In 2012, Internet will exit from Myanmar

My country, Myanmar, has been connected to Internet since 2000 but it becomes more popular around 2006. Because of having Internet in Myanmar, I strongly believe that Myanmar people have a chance to widen their views and opportunities. Also, Myanmar business improved a lot because of Internet because we can contact with other countries and import products. For education, Myanmar students can improve their knowledge skills and any other skills because of Internet and they have a chance to study in foreign countries if they want to try. For example, me, I can come and study here because of having Internet in Myanmar. For communication, Myanmar people away from Myanmar can now contact with their family easily and comfortably. I strongly believe that Myanmar people can improve their skills and views because of having Internet.
However, Now, Myanmar government said Internet is illegal and Myanmar people can't use Internet at the beginning of 2012 and the government will stop Internet access in the whole Myanmar country in 2012. The main reason why they talk Internet is illegal is that people are now having contact with their family who are away from Myanmar with Internet by using Skype, Google, Facebook,etc. So that Myanmar telecommunication doesn't get enough money for the government.
How do you think about it? For me, it is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I hate my government because they want their people to be uneducated and they want people not to know about the world. I can't imagine how Myanmar people will be if the Internet is not in Myanmar. Very crazy government and they have no brains.

Powerful Earthquake hit Myanmar, my country

Yesterday, my aunt called me and she said a powerful earthquake hit Myanmar but she didn't know where it happened and how it was strong and she also can't do anything because she was at work. She was very worried about her family and also my family. Me either. When I heard about it, I couldn't even study and I was so worried about my family, friends and people in my country.
I called to my family but I couldn't so I worried more about them and I visited to CNN website and read the article about Myanmar earthquake and it said it hit the northeast of Myanmar and the magnitude of earthquake is 6.8. It was very strong. At that time, I was happy for my family because northeast of Myanmar is very far away from my city so I was sure my family and friends were safe. But, suddenly I was so sad about my people because some rural places in northeast of Myanmar are undeveloped and they are in poor communication system and anything is in poor conditions. So I worried about them so much.
Last night, my mum called me and said they are safe and not to worry about them. I was happy for my family and friends for being safe but I felt very sorry for my people in the northeast of Myanmar. According to CNN, more than 70 people were killed by the earthquake and a lot of people are in hospitals and homeless right now. I feel very sorry about them and I am not satisfied myself because I can't do anything for them right now.
I understand about my country. My country has to suffer a lot of natural disasters because of destroying environment. We suffered a powerful cyclone in 2008 and now had to suffer powerful earthquake again. I know about my country and it is not like other developed countries. If developed countries have to suffer natural disasters, people do not have to suffer a lot of troubles because their government helped them but the government in my country is not interested in helping people so people in my country have to suffer all the problems and damages if they suffered natural disasters. That is why I take Environmental Science major and I want to do something for my people not to suffer these kind of natural disasters because there is no one who will help them. But right now, I can't do anything for them. I only hope my graduation day when I can go back to my country and do something for my country.

Sharing My Pleasure

I want to share my pleasure with my professor and my classmates. Now, I am very happy because I will go back to my country, Myanmar, this summer and stay about two months in there. But, I have to come back again for Fall 2011. Now, I can't wait to go back to my country and I want to skip March and April if I can. Oh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to meet with my mum, dad, brother, boyfriend, friends as well as my relatives. Everything of my life is in my country. I have many plans to do when I go back to my country. I will go around with my family and friends. I will eat our traditional food a lot and I believe my mum will cook my favorite food for me. I will talk with my mum and stay with my mum the whole days and nights. Many things to do for me within two months. The day when I go back to my country will be one of my happiest day in my life so I can't wait. COME QUICKLY SUMMER.

Facebook can tell you " Who loves you today"

Last week, one of my friends told me that Facebook can tell you who loves you today. It was very interesting for me and I tested it. It was pretty interesting. I got my brother, and some of my best friends in the list of people who loves me today. However, I don't know whether it is true or not. Is Facebook a good tool to make friends or not?

          It is clear that many of you made or are making thousands of friends on Facebook. Some friends are people you have met in the physical world, or people you only interact with online. Anyway, do you think what is a good tool to make friends?
          To discuss it, we will have to discuss the good ways to make friends first. What are the good ways to make friends? In my opinion, introduce yourself about you to a lot of people is one of the good ways to make friends. Facebook allows us to meet with thousands of people. Also, sharing your interests, likes and ideas with other people is a good way to make friends. Facebook allows us to share our interests, feelings and likes with other people. Moreover, by staying in touch with people and talk a lot with people is also a good way to make friends. We can keep in touch with people from all over the world and talk with them a lot on Facebook. By seeing these ways, Facebook is a good tool to make friends.
          However, do you think we need to spend a lot of time in person to be good friends with each other? If you think we need, Facebook doesn't allow you to meet with your friends in person if they are living away from you and face-to-face contact is very important for making friends.

What is my first experience of facebook?

          When I was in Grade 9, one of my friends introduced a new social network, Facebook, to me. But, I was not so interested in Facebook at that time but when I was Grade 11, my best friend went abroad. At that time, she pushed me to use facebook regularly because she said she and me can share our activities and photos via Facebook so I started using facebook regularly. But not very regular. Once a week or twice a week. Through using facebook, I enjoyed the benefits of using Facebook and I enjoyed to log on Facebook.
          When I arrived the United States, Facebook became very important for my life. I can know the activities, education, information from my family, friends, and relatives via Facebook and I can also share of mine with them. I can't remember how many times I log on Facebook everyday. When I am free, I log on it. In the United States, Facebook is part of my life. It is my entertainment when I am tired and stressful. Also, I know about Facebook here by taking this Facebook class.
          Nobody has any doubts that Facebook is huge and useful socila network. However, I can't believe it, 175 million of people long on their Facebook profile everyday. I am also including in those people. I wanna say, Good Jobbbbbbbbbb, Mark.

Social Network Movie Review

          I made a google search to make my movie review for " Social Network" and I found rogerebert.suntimes.com so I made my review from this source. This review is made by Roger Ebert.
          In this review, Mr. Roger praised the director of Social Network, David Fincher, and his writer, Aaron Sorkin, for making this kind of interesting film. He said it is impossible to make a movie about a writer, because how can you show him only writing. Also, it must be impossible to make a movie about a computer programmer, because what is programming but writing in a language few people in the audience know? Yet, the director, David Fincher, and his writer, Aaron Sorkin, are able to explain the facebook phenomenon in terms we can immediately understand, which is the reason 500 million of us have signed up.
          He also go into the specific detail about the movie and discuss about each character's activities in his review like The Winklevosses, Sean Parker and Eduardo Saverin. He talks about more in the dialogue of this film like velocity and screwball comedy.
          In the end, he said " The Social Network" is a great film because of its dazzling style, visual cleverness, or splendidly well-made. He made his conclusion with it was very,very interested.

          Everybody seems to know that it is one of the amazing pagodas all over the world. It is located in Japan. So we can know that there are a lot of Buddhists in Japan.

My name is Yin Thu Htin.I am an international student from Myanmar. I am a freshman and this is my second semester and second time to meet with Professor Malcolm at Queens. I hope this semester to become a wonderful one with friendly professor and classmates.
